About Me
I’m Jodean Cooper the calligraphy artist and engraver behind Desert Plume Calligraphy. As a lover of letters and student of calligraphy, my passion is creating beautiful art to make others happy. I’ve had a love affair with letters from a very early age, so calligraphy is a natural fit for me. There’s a lifetime of learning in this art, and from my beginnings in 2014 I have passionately pursued opportunities for further education. I’ve been privileged to learn from and study with internationally acclaimed calligraphers and Master Penmen alike. I’m a member of the International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting (IAMPETH), and currently serve as Secretary and Membership Chair for The Calligraphic Society of Arizona.
My promise is to always put my heart and soul into making your vision come to life in calligraphy. So much care goes into every piece, each dip of the pen and stroke of each letter. Still, what I find most gratifying about calligraphy is not how it makes me feel (oh, but I do love that part!). It’s how it makes the recipients of a beautifully engraved or penned piece feel - whether an engraved bottle, envelope, beautiful poem, or any number of other projects.
